Already Tea ... Hot.
Best chinese cuisine around. Dining in was wonderful. Pleasant family atmosphere.
Been eating here for decades and it never disappoints. Best take-out/eat-in Chinese you can find.
Quality, and hospitality has dwindled from the parents managing. Free extras if you spend a certain amount of money, believe me, those little things make it great!! Miss Daphne
Great place to eat. First timer and couldn't believe how good! Will definitely be going back....
So good. Food and service
Not sure what's going on, but the last few times we ordered the food was not very good. We got take out the other day and it was the worst I've ever had. The rice noodles tasted like regular spagetti and the pancakes for Moo Shoo were tortillas? It costs way to much to be so bad now. Sucks becuase It used to be the best in town.
This was easily some of the best Chinese food I ever had. And it's definitely the best in the area. If you're looking for a good place to go, this is it.
This is a "live" review... Haven't even gotten the check yet. EAT HERE! I can't believe the negative reviews. I won't believe them! My kids even LOVED the food. Scallion pancakes, boneless spare ribs, fried rice --- all excellent! Hot, fresh ingredients, complimentary hot tea and friendly service also! Ooh, we just got complimentary jello!
The Orient never disappoints, always great food!
The food was good but the prices are higher than they need to be. It seems the owner thinks his food was worth more than it actually was. Service was quick however I found it annoying that the waiter kept reaching over the food in my party to get the empty dishes. And then demanded a tip higher than was deemed adequate. Although they Are one of the better places in the area they're definitely not the best.
Food was good.
This place use you to be the best.....now its so hit or miss. Had the worst dinner ever from there last night. Everything was greasy. Breaks my heart to day these things.
Very nice.. More upscale than most Chinese food places.. Good for a date or to take the family our
Best Chinese restaurant around. You won't be disappointed.
We usually order takeout once a month from The Orient and it is ALWAYS AMAZING!!!In my humble opinion it’s the best Chinese Food in Salem County!!!It’s never any longer than 30 mins to go pickup the food, even then it’s usually ready before that.Doesn’t matter how busy they are, they’re always pleasant when taking your order. I’ve never actually eaten inside the restaurant but I’ve heard great things. I know PENNSVILLE PD is always getting food from here, so that must say something good 😁
Best Chinese good I have had in years. Looking forward to my next dinner.
Over charged me and got my order wrong
If there was an opportunity to give them 10 stars I would do it. Food, atmosphere, staff are always up to expectations. I would recommend it to all seeking great Asian cuisine.
it used to be a 5 but, its inconsistency has made it a 4 but, still the best anywhere when they are on their game
The Orient has gone downhill in the past few years. The sweet and sour chicken is just covered in coating and I need to peel it off to get to the chicken. Most of the other food is just too greasy. The Orient was good when I first moved to town, but it's living in its own legacy.
Always as expected great food
to far to drive to get it .. move closer😉
Amazing all around! This hidden gem has amazing service, staff, food, and decor, leaving nothing more to be desired! Portions are hearty, prices are fair, and service is quick. The staff are friendly, and always on their feet insuring you don't stay thirsty, or unattended otherwise. Cannot recommend enough!
It was decent and affordable
It's one of the best next to ming lok in pitman, it is just too far from where I live unfortunately.
We love this place so much we cross the Delaware Memorial Bridge to get there! Food is delicious and atmosphere is nice
Been getting Chinese from here my whole life , no other chinese place can come close to these guys , best chinese food you can get.
Great quality for a Chinese 'takeout' (nonauthentic) restaurant. I split the House Special soup with a friend and the meat was tender, vegetables cooked but crisp, and the broth actually had flavor (rarer than you'd think!). The main dishes were very enjoyable despite their being prosaic and mainstream American. The service was odd. A waiter stood at the table next to me leaning heavily on a chair, very much infringing on my personal space, and that was annoying. Our waiter, however, was attentive if not a bit over eager. I can see why this place has high ratings. It deserves it in terms of its category, casual American Chinese.
The General Tso's chicken is the best I've ever had!
Ordered General Tso's chicken last night. We're aware it's a szechuan dish (spicy) . Last night the food was so spicy we were unable to eat it and we enjoy spicy food. The few bites we had were extremely overcooked. $40 for dinner that ended up in the garbage. We've noticed a steady decline in the food we've received recently and won't be returning.
Good food, very nice staff
Great place to sit and dine, very friend ly and always clean, good prices
I really like this restaurant as far a American Chinese food choices around the area. It's a little more exspensive but the food is better then any of the other Chinese food places in the area. Parking is a little small but not a problem. If you're disabled and have trouble walking make sure you park in the front parking lot by the main road and not the back. If you park in the back you have to walk up a driveway on a steep incline which can be hard for someone with problems walking or a wheel chair. Staff is also nice I'd like to add. Definitely try the tea if you can. Taste so good.
The sesame chicken was smothered in sauce. Once you are able to let some of the sauce drip off, the chicken was delicious. My poor rating is due to the waiter. As my niece and I were leaving, I left him a tip. He followed me out to her car and said I had to give him 15% tip. I told him I could tip him what I wanted and he insisted I was wrong and showed me on the receipt where it is printed "15% tip recommended". I said that states recommended. I can tip you what I want. He said no, I owed him more money for the 15% tip.
Great food but service started out slow then I felt like we being rush to leave.
Would give this place 100 stars if I could. We came here for my dads birthday dinner and we were warmly welcomed with great service and the most DELICIOUS food. They have gained life long customers, we are already planning our next trip back!
Excellent food, fair prices, fast service
The Orient has the best tasting Chinese food I've had. I compare their food to all other Chinese food places I visit. Up to this time there is no comparison. The staff is very friendly and efficient. I highly recommend.
Food good and people nice, we get take out, my grandson always wants chicken fried rice. I like several of their dishes as my favorites
I love this place great hot food to share with my grandchildren. Some waiters are a bit demanding jeez I thought I was the customer.
My favorite Oriental dining place.
Just got soup, on the run.Was hot and tasty
Little unassuming place with great service and delicious food! Most of their meals would serve 2 people, prices are very reasonable.
Best authentic Chinese restaurant I've ever had. Staff is great in this small town cozy family restaurant
Great food. Good service. Highly recommend.
This is the. best. Chinese. I've tried most in South Jersey, many in Different parts of Philly, and the orient remains the best so far. They make everything fresh, no reheated batches made the day before. All the ingredients are fresh. I always get the gen tso chicken or shrimp, both have a thin crispy breading in a sauce. You can tell them house spicy you want everything. Their prices are very good. They re good for an eat in dinner and great for take out. Very nice people.
This place is always, 5/5, really good.
Nice atmosphere. Quiet. Free black tea. Pretty good rice. There was rap music playing? -- in a Chinese restaurant? The steamed dumplings were meh, the general tso was meh, the sliced chicken in garlic sauce was pretty good tho.
Best wonton soup that I've had in a long time
